The e300i is the next generation of small wind turbine. It is a low starting machine allowing it to generate electricity at relatively low wind speeds. The high performance three blade rotor with pitch control powers a twin axial flux permanent magnet brushless alternator, with good heat management. The e300maintains its rated output in excess wind speeds, optimising the potential power output and energy yield. More usable power generated, stored and used. The e300i powers telecoms sites around the world.

A charge controller ensures that the batteries are charged correctly and helps prolong their life by protecting them from overcharging or from being completely draIned.

PITCH CONTROL

Part of Kestrel’s leading edge technology is the patented pitch control. The blade pitch angle changes in high wind speeds. This feature is critical in high wind areas as the blade rotor does not turn out of the wind out of the wind or furl as most fixed blade designs. As the blade pitch and changes, maximum power continues to be produces and the thrust force on the turbine is reduced.

This is incorporated on the e230i, e300i and the new 400nb units.
